Whistle Hymns is an independent, personally maintained website sharing tin whistle hymn tabs, background information, performance links, articles, site updates, and music resources. This policy explains how information is handled when you browse the site, open a tab sheet, follow a link, or send a message.
1. Browsing, searching, and downloading tabs
You can browse hymns and view, download, and print the PDF tabs without creating an account or providing your name or email address.
The hymn search, alphabetical filter, theme and season filters, and blog search and category filters work within your browser. The site does not send your search terms or filter selections to a search service or save them in cookies or browser storage. Requests to open pages and PDFs may still appear in routine website logs as described below.
2. Information you provide and how it is used
If you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, and message, along with any other information you choose to include. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive personal information.
Your information is used to respond to questions, consider hymn suggestions, address feedback or privacy requests, and manage related correspondence. Whistle Hymns does not sell your personal information, use contact messages for targeted advertising, or add you to a mailing list when you send a message.
3. Contact-form and email services
The contact form sends your submission to Web3Forms for processing and email delivery to the site owner. Web3Forms and the email providers involved may process and retain your message and related technical information to deliver it and prevent spam or abuse.
Web3Forms may use spam-prevention providers that process a submitter’s IP address and email address. Its handling of submissions, retention, and service providers is explained in the Web3Forms Privacy Policy.
4. Website logs and service providers
The hosting and network providers that operate and protect the site may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, requested page or PDF, referring page, and date and time of access. Routine logs may be used for service operation, security, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Information is handled by service providers as needed to host and protect the site, process messages, and deliver email. Their processing and retention are governed by the applicable service arrangements and privacy policies.
5. Cloudflare analytics and performance monitoring
The site loads Cloudflare’s Web Analytics and real user monitoring beacon. It sends usage and performance measurements to Cloudflare to provide reports about visits and how pages load. These measurements can include pages viewed, referring pages, and page-load timing.

6. Cookies and browser storage
When you open a PDF using a download button, the site records a running total for that hymn. A first-party cookie containing a random identifier lasts for ten minutes and helps prevent rapid repeat requests from inflating the total. The counter stores a hashed version of that identifier, the PDF filename, and a time for repeat detection; it does not store your IP address or name. Temporary repeat-detection records older than 24 hours are removed during later download requests. Aggregate totals remain until the counter is reset or removed. These totals measure PDF requests, including viewing and printing, rather than confirmed saved files or unique people.
Whistle Hymns does not set advertising or marketing cookies or use browser storage to save hymn searches or filter choices. Providers involved in delivering and protecting the site or processing a form may use necessary security technologies, including cookies where applicable.
You can manage cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking cookies or scripts may affect some site or third-party features.
7. Performance videos, QR codes, and resource links
Performance videos are linked to external platforms, such as TikTok, rather than embedded in the site’s pages. The Resources page also links to YouTube channels, whistle makers and shops, teachers, and hymn and music websites.
Following an external link, or scanning a QR code on a tab sheet, may take you to another website. That destination may collect technical information, use cookies, or associate your visit with an account you have there. Purchases, lesson bookings, and messages on those sites are handled by their operators under their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Retention and privacy requests
Contact messages and related correspondence may be retained as long as reasonably needed to respond, keep a useful record of suggestions or issues, or address abuse or legal obligations. Copies held by service providers and in backups may follow separate retention schedules.
Use the contact page to ask about personal information you previously submitted or request its correction or deletion. Please provide enough detail to locate the message. Identity verification may be needed before information is disclosed or changed.
9. Children’s privacy
The site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may request its deletion through the contact page.
