Tin Whistle Resources

The whistle I use, places to learn, and more music to explore. Here are a few starting points for your own whistling journey.

The whistle I use

Lír Original · High D

I play a Lír Original high D tin whistle. If you’ve wondered which whistle I use, this is the model.

The Original model is no longer in production, so the exact whistle I use may be difficult to find.

Looking for a similar high D?

One current option to consider is the Lír Pro Aluminium high D from the same maker. Lír lists an aluminium body, a polymer mouthpiece, and an adjustable tuning slide. At 50 grams, it is a lightweight option for playing the high D tabs on this site.

The Pro is a different model, so its tone and playing response may differ from my Original. Visit Lír’s product page for current specifications, availability, and ordering information.
