These Terms of Use apply when you visit Whistle Hymns, browse or search the hymn collection, view or download a whistle tab, follow a resource link, or use other material offered through this website. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The short version about the tabs
The downloadable whistle tabs created and posted by Whistle Hymns are intended to be freely used. You may copy, print, share, adapt, perform, record, and redistribute them without asking permission. Attribution is appreciated, but it is not required.
1. Purpose of the site
Whistle Hymns provides printable tin whistle tabs, hymn descriptions and historical information, links to example performances, blog articles and site updates, and a Resources page featuring instruments, teachers, shops, and other music websites. The materials are offered for general educational, musical, devotional, and informational purposes. You can browse the collection and view, download, and print the tabs without creating an account.
2. Independent project and recommendations
Whistle Hymns is an independent, personally funded project created and maintained by its owner. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or officially connected to any church, denomination, ministry, publisher, or other organization. Descriptions and recommendations reflect the site owner’s experience or assessment. A recommendation or link does not establish a business partnership, sponsorship, or official endorsement of Whistle Hymns by the person or organization mentioned.
3. Public-domain hymns and whistle tabs
Whistle Hymns seeks to feature hymn melodies and lyrics that are believed to be in the public domain in the United States. Copyright rules and public-domain status can differ in other countries, so you are responsible for confirming that your intended use is lawful where you live.
To the extent Whistle Hymns owns copyright or related rights in an original tablature transcription offered for download on this site, those rights are waived and the tab is dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0 Universal. This dedication permits personal, church, educational, nonprofit, and commercial use without requesting permission.
This public-domain dedication applies only to downloadable whistle tabs created and posted by Whistle Hymns. It does not transfer rights that may belong to someone else, and it does not apply to materials on linked resource websites. Nothing in these terms restricts uses already permitted by public-domain status or CC0.
4. Music, arrangements, and recordings are separate
A public-domain hymn may still have a modern arrangement, translation, edition, performance, or recording that is protected by copyright. The U.S. Copyright Office treats a musical composition and a particular sound recording as separate works. For more information, see its guidance on musical compositions and sound recordings.
Videos, recordings, linked performances, and third-party materials are not covered by the CC0 dedication unless they are expressly identified that way. A link to a performance does not grant permission to copy or redistribute that performance.
5. Other Whistle Hymns content
The Whistle Hymns name, logo, emblem, banners, website design, original written introductions, blog articles and updates, photographs, and other site content are not placed in the public domain unless expressly stated. They may be viewed and shared through ordinary links, but they may not be copied, republished, sold, or used to suggest sponsorship or endorsement without permission, except as allowed by applicable law.
You may reproduce and distribute complete downloadable Whistle Hymns tab PDFs with their included name, logo, emblem, and banner as provided. This permission does not grant separate rights to extract or reuse those brand elements or imply sponsorship or endorsement. The original tablature transcriptions remain available under CC0 and may be copied, adapted, and redistributed without the Whistle Hymns branding.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, use the site for unlawful activity, or misrepresent your relationship with Whistle Hymns. Nothing in this section limits the freedoms granted for CC0 whistle tabs.
7. Accuracy and availability
Whistle Hymns tries to provide accurate, useful materials, but does not guarantee that every tab, historical statement, copyright assessment, link, or other item is complete, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. The site and its materials may be corrected, changed, removed, or temporarily unavailable without notice.
The tabs are prepared for a high D whistle and may be transposed from a hymn’s original or commonly sung key. Some tabs also simplify passages or substitute notes to fit the whistle’s range or avoid difficult fingerings. They are practical playing adaptations, rather than exact reproductions of an original score; relevant changes may be identified in the hymn introduction or tab sheet. The same fingering patterns can be used on whistles in other keys, producing different pitches. Example performances are helpful guides and may vary from the printed tabs in phrasing, ornamentation, rhythm, or individual notes.
8. Resource links, videos, and outside services
The site links to external services, including TikTok and YouTube, whistle makers and shops, instructors, and hymn and music resources. Performance links and QR codes on tab sheets may take you to an outside website. External pages and destinations may change or become unavailable.
Whistle Hymns does not operate those services or handle purchases, lesson bookings, payments, shipping, returns, or disputes with outside providers. Check current specifications, prices, availability, and terms directly with the provider before ordering or booking.
Linked materials have their own copyright and usage terms; the CC0 dedication for Whistle Hymns tabs does not apply to them. Whistle Hymns does not control outside services and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.
The contact form uses Web3Forms for message processing and delivery. The Privacy Policy explains contact-form processing, website logs, Cloudflare analytics, and other information practices.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and all materials are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Whistle Hymns disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Whistle Hymns and its owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss arising from your use of—or inability to use—the site, downloads, links, or other materials.
11. Copyright concerns
If you believe material on this site infringes a copyright or has been incorrectly identified as public domain, please use the contact page. Identify the work, the material in question, its location on the site, your contact information, and the reason for your concern so it can be reviewed promptly.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the site develops. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. Updates do not revoke the CC0 dedication already applied to downloadable whistle tabs.
13. Governing law and severability
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and applicable United States law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
